Shipping Policy

1. Overview

Liquid Ion Solutions, LLC-d/b/a-RoCo® (“RoCo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) ships ionic liquids, metal salts, battery materials, precursors, and other advanced materials from our facility at 1816 Parkway View Dr., Bldg. 18, Pittsburgh, PA 15205. Because many of our products are specialty chemicals, our shipping procedures comply with applicable federal hazardous materials transportation regulations (49 CFR), IATA dangerous goods regulations for air freight, and applicable Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations.

 

This policy applies to all orders placed through roco.global. For large-volume, custom synthesis, or contract R&D orders, shipping terms may be negotiated separately — please contact us at info@roco.global.

 

2. Shipping Carrier

RoCo ships all orders via FedEx. Depending on the nature of the product, order size, and destination, shipments may be sent via:

  • FedEx Ground — standard delivery for most domestic US orders.
  • FedEx Express (Overnight / 2-Day) — available for time-sensitive orders or products requiring expedited handling.
  • FedEx International Priority or FedEx International Ground — for shipments to Canada.

 

RoCo reserves the right to select the most appropriate FedEx service for a given shipment based on product classification, weight, destination, and safety requirements. If you have a preferred FedEx service level, please note it in your order comments or contact us before placing your order.

 

3. Order Processing Time

Processing times vary by product type. Please review the table below for estimated timelines:

Processing time does not include transit time. Orders placed after 5:00 PM ET or on weekends and holidays will begin processing the next business day.

If there is a delay with your order, we will contact you at the email address provided at checkout as soon as possible.

 

4. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the weight, dimensions, and destination of your order, using real-time FedEx rates. The shipping cost will be displayed clearly before you complete your purchase.

 

Factors that may affect shipping cost include:

  • Total weight and dimensions of the shipment.
  • FedEx service level selected (Ground, Express, International).
  • Destination (domestic US vs. Canada).
  • Hazardous materials surcharges, where applicable, for products requiring special handling or dangerous goods labeling.

 

Hazmat surcharges are assessed by FedEx for shipments classified as dangerous goods under DOT/IATA regulations. These are passed through to the customer at cost and will be reflected in the shipping total at checkout or quoted separately for large orders.

 

5. Domestic Shipping (United States)

RoCo ships to all 50 US states and Washington, D.C. Estimated transit times via FedEx after shipment:

Transit times are estimates provided by FedEx and are not guaranteed. RoCo is not responsible for delays caused by FedEx, weather, or other circumstances outside our control.

 

6. International Shipping (Canada)

RoCo currently ships to Canada via FedEx International Priority or FedEx International Ground. Canadian customers are responsible for the following:

  • All applicable customs duties, taxes, and import fees assessed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
  • Compliance with Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations for the receipt of chemical shipments.
  • Any brokerage fees charged by FedEx for customs clearance (FedEx Trade Networks).

 

Estimated transit time to Canada is 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on service level and customs processing times.

 

6.1 Export Controls and Restrictions

Some RoCo products may be subject to US export control regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) administered by the US Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). By placing an order for international shipment, you confirm that:

  • You are not located in, or ordering on behalf of any entity in, a US-sanctioned country or territory.
  • The products will be used for lawful purposes only and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
  • You will comply with all applicable import regulations in Canada, including TDG and WHMIS 2015 requirements.

 

RoCo reserves the right to decline or cancel any international order that may conflict with applicable export control laws or regulations. If you are unsure whether your order is subject to export controls, please contact us at info@roco.global before placing your order.

 

7. Hazardous Materials Shipping

Many of RoCo’s products are classified as hazardous materials under US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations (49 CFR) and/or IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for air transport. RoCo takes chemical shipping compliance seriously and follows all applicable regulations.

 

7.1 Our Hazmat Procedures

  • All shipments are packaged in hazmat-certified, UN-spec packaging appropriate for the product’s hazard classification.
  • Proper DOT/IATA hazard labels, markings, and shipping papers are applied to every hazmat shipment.
  • A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is included with every shipment. Additional SDS copies are available upon request at info@roco.global.
  • Shipments are handled by trained personnel in compliance with 49 CFR hazmat employee training requirements.

 

7.2 Air Freight Restrictions

Certain ionic liquids and chemical precursors may be restricted or prohibited from air transport depending on their hazard classification. If a product cannot be shipped via FedEx air services, we will ship via FedEx Ground or contact you to discuss alternative arrangements. We will always notify you if a service limitation affects your order.

 

7.3 Customer Responsibilities

By ordering hazardous materials from RoCo, you confirm that:

  • You are authorized to receive, handle, and use the ordered chemicals under applicable federal, state/provincial, and local regulations.
  • You have appropriate facilities, safety equipment, and trained personnel for the safe receipt and handling of the materials.
  • You will comply with all applicable regulations regarding storage, use, and disposal of the products.

 

8. Order Tracking

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing your FedEx tracking number. You can track your shipment at fedex.com or by entering your tracking number directly at checkout.

 

If you do not receive a tracking confirmation within the expected processing window, please contact us at info@roco.global or 724-315-9170.

 

9. Damaged or Lost Shipments

9.1 Damaged Shipments

If your order arrives damaged, please:

  • Photograph the damaged packaging and products before opening or discarding any materials.
  • Contact us within 5 business days of delivery at info@roco.global with your order number, photos, and a description of the damage.
  • Retain all original packaging — FedEx may require inspection of the packaging to process a claim.

 

RoCo will work with you and FedEx to resolve damage claims as quickly as possible. Replacement or refund eligibility is subject to our Return & Cancellation Policy at roco.global/return-policy/.

 

9.2 Lost Shipments

If your tracking information shows a shipment as delivered but you have not received it, or if your shipment appears to be lost in transit, please contact us within 10 business days of the expected delivery date. We will open a trace investigation with FedEx on your behalf.

 

10. Shipping Address Accuracy

Please ensure your shipping address is complete and accurate at checkout. RoCo is not responsible for delays or non-delivery resulting from incorrect or incomplete addresses provided by the customer.

 

Address correction fees charged by FedEx for shipments with incorrect addresses will be passed on to the customer. If you need to update your shipping address after placing an order, please contact us immediately at info@roco.global — we can only make changes before the order ships.
