Zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate, 98% (CAS NO: 54010-75-2) is used as a Lewis acid catalyst, e.g. in the silylation, and acylation of alcohols, phenols, and thiophenols. Zinc Triflate (54010-75-2) has found uses in zinc ion and solid-state batteries. It is also used as a catalyst for greener amine synthesis by reductive amination with hydrogen gas.
